VOLUNTEER AT ARC
Community integration is important to those we serve, and volunteers play a special role in meeting this need. Arc of Onondaga is one of the largest providers of services for people with developmental disabilities in the county – serving over 1,000 individuals and their families at 40 local sites -and helping us to achieve our mission of assisting individuals with developmental disabilities achieve their fullest potential.
Volunteers are critical to the services and programs we provide to our participants. It’s important to us that volunteers feel comfortable in working with our participants and understand some basic requirements. Please note that volunteers working directly with persons who have developmental disabilities may be required to undergo a state background check, TB test, and some introductory training.
We sincerely appreciate your interest in helping Arc of Onondaga by volunteering your valuable time! There are many ways to get involved, and you are a vital link to creating awareness in the community about developmental disabilities. In order to best place your skills to our needs, please fill out the Volunteer Questionnaire identifying your areas of interest and availability. Arc will keep this information securely in our files to help us find the right person for projects this year and well into the future!
