Arc of Onondaga and the Arc Human Resources Department has been recognized as an Employer of Choice for four years in a row by the Central New York Society for Human Resource Management.

Arc took home the 2006 Best Practice Award in Benefits and Compensation and in 2005 received Best Practice Award in Workforce Planning & Employment. Arc earned the same award in 2003, and in 2004 received the Best Practice in Employee and Labor Relations Award.

CNY SHRM cited the commitment to hiring a diverse workforce as one of the distinguishing factors for Arc of Onondaga. Minorities currently comprise 23% of Arc’s total workforce, as well as several members of senior management. Arc’s Human Resources department engages in local employment events that are particularly diverse including participation in Juneteenth Day. Arc places all employees in a weeklong orientation program and engages in continual training for all employees throughout their career at Arc.
