Arc of Onondaga Employment Benefits
Many employees feel that enjoying a meaningful work experience, fulfilling our mission to serve and offering opportunities to individuals with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities and their families is their greatest fringe benefit received at Arc of Onondaga. In recognition of our employees we offer a full range of benefits shown below. Agency employees also enjoy organized events that include an Annual Employee Appreciation Picnic, an Annual Staff Recognition and Holiday Parties. GROUP HEALTH INSURANCE• Medical Plan – In addition to the benefits outlined below under the health plan you will automatically be enrolled in the members rewards program which entitles you to health resources in your area which include discounts on programs such as exercise, health and fitness clubs and glasses to name a few.o Employee and dependent premiums are supplemented by the Agency o Two plans through Excellus BlueCross BlueShield are offered o Both plans are subject to co-pays and deductibles o Domestic partner coverage is available • Dental Plan – The agency provides a self-funded plan for dental and vision, which entitles you to go to the dentist or vision care facility of your choice not restricting you to network providers. o Employee and dependent premiums are supplemented by the Agency o Subject to co-pays and deductibles • Vision Plan o Employee and dependent premiums are supplemented by the Agency o Coverage is available for both exams and vision care coverage including purchase of contact lenses Life Insurance / AD&D• A life insurance policy will be paid in full by the agency equal to your annual earnings up to $50,000.• Additional life insurance plans are also available for employees and their dependents through Prudential, Allstate and Aflac to purchase. Income Protection• NYS Disability and Long Term Disability protection is available against both short and long term loss of income due to illness or injury. Long Term Disability is paid for in full by the agency.• Additional Short Term Disability may also be purchased through Prudential, Allstate and Aflac. Pension Plan• Employees are immediately eligible to make pre-tax contributions to their 401(k) account if they have attained the age of 21. Through payroll deduction employees may contribute 1% to 80% of the annual income not to exceed $15,500 during the plan year. After employees have attained one year of service the agency will contribute 50% of your pre-tax contribution up to 6% of your eligible pay.Flexible Spending/Section 125 Plan• This plan allows eligible employees to redirect a portion of their salary to a Section 125 which entitles employees to receive reimbursement for health, dental, vision and any unreimbursed medical expenses using pre-tax health dollars. The plan will also allow redirection of salary for dependent care coverage as well. The plan allows a maximum of $5,000 for dependent care and $3,000 for medical expenses.Employee Assistance ProgramThe Agency provides a paid in full employee assistance program through Crouse HelpPeople for all employees and their dependents. This service provides professional and confidential consultation to staff and their dependents.Time Off• Vacation: Begins to accrue immediately and can be taken as soon as 90 days following employment. Accrual rates increase with length of service.• Personal Time: All staff are eligible for 3 personal days per year. First year employees receive a prorated amount. • Sick Days: Accrues at the rate of 1 day per month. • Holidays: Employees receive 12 holidays per year. o New Years Day, Martin Luther King Day, President’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving and the day following, and Christmas (2 days).
